Actor Johnny Depp has recently detailed in-depth his very difficult relationship with ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp is suing Heard for defamation and libel over an op-ed article she wrote for The Washington Post alleging the “Pirates of the Carribean” star of abuse. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million, and though Depp is not specifically named in the article, he claims it cost him lucrative acting roles. Depp joined Alice Cooper’s supergroup, Hollywood Vampires, in 2012 alongside Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. Cooper recently defended Depp’s character to NME. “Johnny Depp and I are best friends… I’ve never seen him lift a finger against anybody,” Cooper said to NME. “He’s one of the most gentle people. And all of his former girlfriends and wives say the same thing. It’s really hard to believe that all of a sudden he’s gonna turn into this monster. And I know the guy — I’m with the guy on tour all the time. He’s one of the most gentle, harmless people I’ve ever met.”

Perry also recently weighed in with an Instagram post. “After living at JOHNNYS house and working in his studio with him for countless hours you REALLY get to know someone,” Perry wrote. “JOHNNY DEPP has a heart as big as the world, generous and giving… and is a gentle man… in the true sense of the word!!!!! THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT.”

Depp concluded his fourth and final day of testimony last week where he told the court he is a victim of domestic abuse. His former agent, Christian Carano, testified that Heard cost him future “Pirates of the Caribbean” films. “My opinion is that Amber’s accusations would have had the most dramatic impact on his off-screen reputation. I’m not talking about any one specific accusation,” Carino said. Depp’s attorney played a 2016 recording of a conversation between the former couple. Heard expressed concern about regaining her reputation after press reports about their contentious relationship. “What did you say in response when Ms. Heard said, ‘Tell the world, Johnny. Tell them, Johnny Depp, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim, too, of domestic violence’?” Meyers asked Depp. “I said, ‘Yes. I am,'” Depp responded.
