Jon Huber, who wrestled as both Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, tragically died on December 26th and left the wrestling world grieving. Initially, not much was known about his passing other than it was a lung issue, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has revealed some more details regarding his health before he passed. According to Meltzer, while Lee was away from AEW selling the aftermath of his Dog Collar match with Cody Rhodes, he began to realize his health was declining. He couldn’t complete his Peleton workout and ended hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where he remained for two months. While the news was known to a select few within AEW, it was kept private at his family’s request.
After his wife shared the sad news of Lee’s death, virtually every wrestler with a social media presence has paid tribute to the much loved Lee, with WWE even putting aside their war with AEW to acknowledge his passing. It has since been announced that all proceeds from Lee’s ProWrestlingTee’s store are going to the family, and both CM Punk and Mick Foley are donating their own t-shirt sales.
