Adam Copeland’s First AEW Opponent Has Been Announced

The pro wrestling world is buzzing following Adam Copeland’s jump to AEW, with fans already talking about all the potential fresh matches up for the Rated R Superstar can have. And now, during the post-WrestleDream media scrum, Tony Khan has announced that Copeland will make his in-ring debut during the October 10th episode of Dynamite against Luchasaurus.

“Dynamite is actually going to be on Tuesday, October 10, for title Tuesday, it’s my birthday, it’s going to be a great event, we’re going to have a great time. I’m very excited about it, and I got the greatest birthday present in the world because the newest member of the AEW roster, The Rated-R Superstar, has requested a match on October 10 in Kansas City. And we got a little preview of that action tonight on WrestleDream, based on your request, it’s going to be Adam Copeland vs. Luchasaurus,”

While in WWE, 49-year-old Copeland was regarded as a part-time performer and had a certain number of matches he was contracted to compete in per year. This explains why he hasn’t wrestled since his SmackDown match with Sheamus despite having time remaining on his contract. However, with it believed that he is full-time with AEW, he will likely be competing far more regularly, which should mean all the top names on the roster eventually get to share the ring with him.
