In a story that keeps getting wilder and wilder and seems to be bordering on the ridiculous, further details regarding CM Punk’s altercation with The Young Bucks are beginning to come out. With Fightful Select and F4W Online now reporting that during the confrontation, punches were thrown by Punk, and his longtime friend and AEW producer Ace Steel flung a chair which hit Nick Jackson in the eye. Additionally, it’s claimed Kenny Omega and Steel got into it, with Steel shockingly biting Omega.
According to multiple sources that lined up with some of Fightful’s reporting, there was a fight backstage afterward with Punk allegedly starting things by swinging fists at the Bucks’ Matt Jackson. Punk trainer/friend and AEW producer Steel (part of the storyline that got Punk into Sunday’s Jon Moxley match) threw a chair that hit the Bucks’ Nick Jackson in the eye. Omega was also involved with Steel (Chris Guy) grabbing his hair and biting him.
While the story seems unbelievable, especially considering the people involved, many journalists in the know insist the situation is genuine and has been brewing for some time. And if that’s the case, a few people will be leaving the company shortly, with Steel’s continued employment seemingly impossible if this actually occurred. Still, this could all be an elaborate work, with Tony Khan looking forward to seeing Wednesday’s Dynamite ratings, which will almost certainly be up given how much talk this and MJF’s return has generated.
