80s WWE Star Suffers Huge Personal Loss

In sad news, Wendi Richter, best known for her time in the WWF during the 1980s, is currently trying to recover from the loss of her home. At present, the details remain sparse, but wrestling podcaster Dave Dynasty has taken to X to reveal that the women’s wrestling pioneer recently lost her home and most of her personal possessions following a fire. As of writing, no GoFundMe has been launched to assist Richter, although the Cauliflower Alley Club is collecting donations via PayPal.

64-year-old Richter broke into the business in 1979, and within just four years was wrestling for Vince McMahon’s WWF during the iconic “Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection” era. This would see her positioned as the top women’s wrestler in the promotion, memorably winning her second WWF Women’s World Championship at the first WrestleMania. However, despite her star status, she would end up departing the company after a contract dispute saw her legitimately pinned by The Spider, who was The Fabulous Moolah in disguise, in what is now known as “The Original Screwjob.”
