The Fight For The Fallen episode kicked off the new year and new media rights deal for All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday night from Asheville, North Carolina. AEW President Tony Khan has been very liberal in licensing well-known songs for the company to use for wrestler entrances, show themes and promo packages, and he recently ponied up for two iconic Guns ’N Roses tracks, “November Rain” and “Welcome To The Jungle.”
Wednesday’s Dynamite, however, somewhat surprisingly featured the ’80s pop hit “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters as the show’s new theme. The song was originally released in 1982 and re-released in 1984 cracking the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Earlier in the week, it was also announced that AEW Collision was reverting its theme back to Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting.” The new AEW Dynamite intro can be viewed below.
