Hulk Hogan had an in-ring career spanning 34 years, working with legends like Roddy Piper and Andre The Giant, as well as contemporary stars like AJ Styles and Randy Orton. Still, he has been involved in more than his fair share of controversies, and during this week’s episode of Raw at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, he was booed out of the building.
However, with WWE having partnered with Hogan due to his Real American Beer brand, a venture he started to promote his patriotic image, the company is unlikely to cut tiers just yet. And now the UK’s Daily Mail has reported they plan on returning him to heel and will even get involved with another wrestler for a storyline, seemingly ensuring even more television time.
“There has already been discussion that the next time they put Hogan on TV is to make him a heel or a bad guy, because the last time he was a bad guy, it worked wonders for his career … Plans are for Hogan to be a bad guy again and to help out a future storyline with another wrestler.”
DailyMail.co.uk71-year-old Hogan retired from the ring back in 2012 following two low-key house show matches for TNA in the United Kingdom. And while he has regularly teased making a comeback to have a proper retirement match, the fact he has been seen walking with a cane due to having had the nerves in his lower back cut makes that unlikely. Nonetheless, he remains a significant part of both WWE and pro wrestling history, and to those who lived through Hulkamania in the 80s, he remains a big deal.
