WWE’s Natalya signed a new long-term contract with the company in June, ending the speculation that she could be AEW-bound. And now, while talking to Sports Illustrated, the 42-year-old has disclosed that before inking her new deal, she actually underwent eye surgery due to having become legally blind in her left eye due to astigmatism.
“I was legally blind in my left eye … I had a little time off this summer in between my contract re-signing. And I was like, if I had this time off, I’m going to ask WWE if I can get this fixed because I went and found an eye doctor.”
NatalyaNatalya, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jim Neidhart, has been with WWE since 2007 and, during her time with the company, has had many highs and lows. Her career highlights would come via winning the WWE Divas Championship and WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, a career low point would arguably be when she was given a flatulence gimmick, which came across as a way to embarrass her. Yet despite this, she has always stayed over with fans, and therefore, it made sense for WWE to renew her contract.
