The news initially broke prior to WrestleMania Sunday that Endeavor had agreed to acquire and merge with WWE. With it was understood at the time the new company would trade under the ticker symbol TKO. And now it has been confirmed by CNBC that the new company will go by the name of TKO Group Holdings.
At the time of the merger, it was stated the new company valued itself at $21.4 billion, with WWE making up $9.3 billion and UFC at $12.1 billion. And while the exact dynamics of the leadership team remain to be seen, it is understood that Ari Emanuel, the CEO of Endeavor, will assume the role of CEO for TKO Group Holdings. However, Vince McMahon will remain the controlling shareholder of WWE and take on the position of Executive Chairman within the newly merged company.
