During Monday’s episode of Raw, Jey Uso’s “Yeet” t-shirt was noticeably blurred during a video package. And now it has been confirmed by WWE insider X account @WrestleVotes that WWE has been forced to stop using the catchphrase due to trademark issues. Subsequently, it was established by those investigating online that the company failed to do its due diligence, and indie wrestler Kasey Huffman had trademarked the word two years ago.
While previously used in The Bloodline storyline, the word took off with WWE fans after Jey Uso used it during the Fastlane post-show press conference back in October while enjoying some alcoholic beverages. Now, though, the word appears to be gone from the wrestling star’s vocabulary and merchandise unless WWE either purchases or licenses the trademark from Huffman.
