PWInsider.com has reported that WWE Performance Center coach Terry Taylor is set to undergo knee surgery in the coming weeks. The 70-year-old veteran, who has been a key trainer at the facility since 2012, will therefore miss The Gathering fan convention in Charlotte this July while he recovers. A respected figure known for his sharp wrestling mind, Taylor has earned high praise from current stars, including former NXT standout Oba Femi, for his storytelling expertise and inspirational guidance.

Born Paul Worden Taylor III on August 12, 1955, Terry Taylor enjoyed a colorful in-ring career that began in 1979. He thrived as a top babyface in Mid-South and UWF, capturing major titles and feuding with stars like Ted DiBiase and The Freebirds. Later stints in WCCW, WWF (where he gained notoriety as the Red Rooster), and WCW showcased his versatility. After officially retiring around 2006, Taylor transitioned into talent development and management, serving as TNA’s Director of Talent Relations before becoming a highly valued coach at the WWE Performance Center.
