TKO Makes Major Announcements Regarding The Rock & Raw’s New Home

WWE’s parent company, TKO, has announced significant changes to the wrestling organization via a series of press releases issued on Tuesday morning. The first was that WWE legend and Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson has been appointed to TKO’s Board of Directors. This was something few people saw coming, and it will now be fascinating to see what he brings to the company in a management position. Additionally, it is noted that he takes full ownership of his name, “The Rock,” which is obviously also a huge deal to him and virtually unprecedented.

Equally as massive is that it has been confirmed that Raw is set to join Netflix in January 2025. It’s understood TKO is being paid $5 billion for a 10-year agreement, and WWE’s flagship show will be aired on the streaming platform not only in the United States but also in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America. Interestingly, WWE’s current deal to air Raw on the USA Network expires in October 2024, so the question of where the show will broadcast during the crossover period is likely to become a talking point.
