WWE Internally Talking About Signing Two New Talents

It was recently revealed WWE had a hiring freeze, with it suspected it stemmed from the merger with Endeavor. However, it appears WWE is now again talking about recruiting talents because Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that both Richard Holliday and Tama Tonga have been spoken about internally.

I don’t know if they will be signed but there has been talk internally in WWE of late about Richard Holliday because of the story of his beating cancer and in Tama Tonga, who there has been talk about for some time.

Dave Meltzer

30-year-old Richard Holliday, real name Joe Zimbardi is best known for his time in MLW and previously held the promotions tag championships with MJF. Sadly though, his career was put on hold when he was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Thankfully though, he is now in remission and is looking at resuming his in-ring career next month on the independents.

With regards to Tama Tonga, real name Alipate Leone, he is currently working for New Japan Pro Wrestling and is known for being a founding member of the Bullet Club. Additionally, the 40-year-old has wrestled for Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor and has a long family history in the business, with his uncle/adoptive father being Haku.
