WWE Has Released Mike Rotunda (IRS) After 14 Years Working Backstage

Following on from the news that Gerald Brisco was released Wednesday evening, we can report that Mike Rotunda has also been let go. He is best known to wrestling fans as Michael Wallstreet or Irwin R. Schyster, depending on if you followed WCW or WWF. He worked as a producer/road agent but was part of the group of personnel furloughed on April 15, 2020. This came as a surprise considering both his sons Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas are currently on the WWE roster. He also had a reputation of someone Vince McMahon was very fond of, but neither of those factors saved his job.

Rotunda had been with WWE for 14 years, joining the company in 2006 in a backstage role. He occasionally made television appearances under his IRS gimmick and wrestled his final match in 2007 as part of the 15th Anniversary Battle Royal. He’d seemingly won the match by eliminating Sgt. Slaughter, but would climb over the top rope after taking a payoff from Ted DiBiase, handing him the victory.
