WWE Hall Of Famer Is Returning To TNA For Rebellion

Sean Waltman was a significant presence on WWE television in the 1990s, both as the 1–2–3 Kid and X-Pac, so he is best known for his time working there. However, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer also had a few runs in TNA, with the first being in 2002 and the last in 2010, and even won the X Division Championship once.

And now, during Thursday night’s episode of Impact, it was announced that Waltman would be returning to the promotion to be in the corner of Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, and Ace Austin for their match against Brian Myers, JDC, and Eddie Edwards at Rebellion this Sunday. This is a particularly notable pay-per-view for TNA, as it will feature several NXT talents in action, including Ethan Page and the Fatal Influence stable.

Waltman’s involvement appears to stem from WWE’s working relationship with TNA, as while the DX members’ in-ring pro wrestling careers with major promotions unfortunately ended in 2010, it is understood that he is currently employed by WWE. What his job title is remains unclear, although it is understood that he watches matches and serves as a mentor for those involved in WWE’s ID program, offering feedback and ideas. Additionally, he has a Legend’s contract, which allows the company to produce merchandise featuring his likeness.
