Going forward, the WWE NXT Women’s Championship will only be called the NXT Championship. At this time, neither the Raw or Smackdown women’s championships have been renamed, but it would seem an inevitability.
The change was foretold by Becky Lynch on WWE Backstage this past Tuesday when she said that WWE shouldn’t use gender-specific language when referring to the Men’s and Women’s division. You can watch this below.
