WWE disappointed a lot of fans when Roman Reigns didn’t wrestle at the Survivor Series; however, the company quickly regained fans’ goodwill by putting on an excellent WarGames main event and having CM Punk make his return. And, now, having not wrestled since Crown Jewel at the start of November, WWE has announced on social media that he will be returning to television for the December 15 episode of SmackDown. After that, his next two appearances will be on January 5 and January 19, seemingly to build to his yet-to-be-announced Royal Rumble match.
38-year-old Reigns is currently one of the longest-reigning champions in the modern era of pro wrestling. This is down to him being booked so strongly and rarely defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship due to his part-time status. Still, he remains a massive star, and with WWE regularly breaking paid attendance records, they clearly know what they’re doing by having him only appear occasionally.
