During Friday’s SmackDown, which aired early in some international markets because it took place in Saudi Arabia, WWE seemingly spoiled the #1 entrant for the 2026 men’s Royal Rumble. This occurred during Axiom’s entrance, when a brief graphic flashed on screen, showing Bron Breakker as the opening entrant in the 30-man match. Of course, now that this news is out, WWE could change plans and put someone else in first, but Royal Rumble matches are planned well in advance, so this would have a knock-on effect.

The #1 entrant in the Royal Rumble match in kayfabe faces the most formidable challenge, having to better 29 other competitors. Historically, few have triumphed from this spot, with only Shawn Michaels in 1995, Chris Benoit in 2004, Edge in 2021, and Rhea Ripley in 2023 winning as #1, while delivering epic “ironman/woman” performances. Whether this was the plan for Breakker is unknown, but considering he is the second favorite in the betting, it appears likely he’ll be in the final few men, come the event of the match.
