Wrestling Journalist Told Claim That CM Punk’s Dog Was Harmed In Backstage Brawl Is “An Outright Lie”

On Wednesday night, it was reported by WrestlingInc.com’s Nick Hausman that CM Punk’s dog Larry had been struck by a locker room door after being kicked open by The Young Bucks, with this information coming directly from Punk’s side. And subsequently, fan reaction has turned to be more favorable towards the former WWE star, who had previously been seen as the instigator. However, during the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer disputed this, saying an unnamed source had told him it was “an outright lie.” And considering Meltzer is known to be close to both Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, it is possible it came directly from one of them.

The only thing that I did hear is that the response to what was said was basically it’s an outright lie. I did have that told to me, but nobody could really say anything more as far as the dog thing goes.

While the results of the investigation carried out by a third party haven’t been publicly announced, the fact The Elite’s return is being teased on television while Punk is negotiating a contract buyout and his friend Ace Steel has been fired speaks volumes. And as Meltzer also noted on WOR, nobody had brought up Larry being harmed previously, which does seem strange since it does change the whole perception of the situation. Ultimately though, with so many different versions of the fight being shared, it’s impossible to know what truly transpired in that locker room. Perhaps with it never being fully revealed.
