Former WWE wrestler Maven Huffman has openly discussed how clickbait has fueled his YouTube success. In a recent interview, he addressed his viral video titled “Why I Hate Triple H,” making it clear that he holds no real animosity toward the WWE executive. Maven revealed that the bold title and eye-catching thumbnail dramatically boosted views and earnings compared to a milder version. Seeing the financial rewards, he admitted, convinced him to embrace the tactic fully.
“Anybody that’s in this space, the content creation space, understands just how much heavy lifting a good thumbnail and a good title can truly do. I like that. I don’t hate Triple H, but the title sure did some heavy lifting in that video. That video doesn’t perform as well if I title it, ‘My Honest Opinions of Triple H.’ That video is sitting at maybe 100,000 views if that’s the case. Again, that’s where my hat’s off to Zach for knowing how to title and thumbnail a video. I remember when we first started, I’d be like, ‘Man, is he ever going to make me look half-decent in any of these thumbnails?’ Then I started seeing the views and, subsequently, the money that came behind that.” – Maven
Since launching his YouTube channel in early 2023, the former WWE competitor has enjoyed remarkable growth by sharing honest wrestling stories and insider perspectives. What started with modest numbers quickly exploded thanks to engaging content and smart marketing. As of mid-2026, the channel has amassed nearly 900,000 subscribers and more than 290 million total views. Maven now likely earns more from YouTube than he did throughout his entire WWE career, crediting the success to a combination of clever strategies and a strong connection with fans.
