Will Ospreay Fires Back At Triple H After He Questioned His Work Ethic

During a recent interview on the Pat McAfee Show, Triple H would say, “If you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here,” which many saw as a shot at Will Ospreay. This is believed to be because the British pro wrestler picked AEW’s lighter schedule and higher pay over WWE’s contract offer. And now, during this week’s episode of Dynamite, Ospreay has fired back at WWE’s chief content officer, claiming he only got to where he did because he was “grinding on” Stephanie McMahon.

“Normally, I wouldn’t rise to this type of bait, but seeing as the guy that said it is only in the position he’s in because he was grinding on the boss’s daughter, you are in no position to tell me what the grind is all about my friend because you have no idea what I fight for. Let this be a painful jab back and a gentle reminder that you do not throw stones at an assassin with a machine gun.”

Will Ospreay

While 30-year-old Ospreay’s wrestling style might not be to everyone’s taste, to say he isn’t a grinder is harsh, considering he has wrestled over 1,000 matches, many involving weekly international travel. Therefore, Triple H’s comment comes across as bitter if it was indeed aimed at Ospreay. However, it’s doubtful that the WWE executive will care about the shot, given that people have been questioning his relationship with Stephanie for over two decades.
