After a decade-long WWE run, Tommaso Ciampa’s contract recently expired, with him opting not to re-sign. Therefore, while few were truly surprised when he made his official AEW debut during this week’s Dynamite, accepting TNT Champion Mark Briscoe’s open challenge for Collision, it was still a memorable moment with fans particularly loving his new theme music “My Shadow Knows.” And now, on John Kiernan’s Ropes N Riffs podcast, Joe Altier, the man behind the iconic “WELLLLL… it’s the Big Show,” has revealed that he is the vocalist.
51-year-old Altier is a seasoned vocalist, songwriter, and live performer with over 25 years in the music industry. As the lead singer of the hard rock band Brand New Sin, he has headlined across the US and the UK, gaining wrestling fame when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon discovered him in 2005, which led to a recording session with Jim Johnston for WWE’s Big Show theme “Crank It Up”. Then, in 2021, he reprised his vocals on Paul Wight’s AEW theme with Mikey Rukus and obviously made a great impression in the process.
