Why QT Marshall Resigned From AEW Has Been Reported

On Monday, QT Marshall took to social media platform X to announce he was leaving AEW when his contract expires at the end of the year, clearly noting he was resigning. This came as a major surprise as it is known he was considered an essential part of AEW’s product due to his backstage and coaching work, and at one point, he was even considered Tony Khan’s right-hand man. And now, HausOfWrestling.com has reported that one of the main reasons he is departing the promotion is that he wants to focus on working as an in-ring performer.

“Marshall had become vocal about his desire to work as an in-ring performer rather than a backstage coach.”

The 38-year-old trained at the Monster Factory in 2004 and subsequently worked indies before getting opportunities with ROH and WWE. His big break would come in 2019, thanks to his friendship with Cody Rhodes, who got him hired as both a wrestler and associate producer for AEW. However, he was never pushed when he did wrestle, and it will now be intriguing to see if WWE has any interest in hiring him, considering his relationship with Rhodes.
