CM Punk is set to be the star of AEW’s upcoming Collision show, which is scheduled to air on Saturday nights. However, precisely who he will work with on the new brand is yet to be confirmed. Now though, according to Fightful Select, Punk has been pushing to work with Samoa Joe. Who is someone he worked with in the early 2000s in Ring of Honor.
Punk is an incredibly popular performer who can alienate colleagues quickly. Therefore, his return to AEW will need to be managed carefully due to it being understood a large majority of the locker room is against his comeback. Nevertheless, it is ultimately Tony Khan’s decision, and with the money Punk can make him, it seems a no-brainer to bring him back, and perhaps a program with his long-term associate could be a wise first feud.
