Vince McMahon Is Trying To Force Private Arbitration With Janel Grant

In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis, making some appalling allegations about her treatment. Still, McMahon would deny the claims via a spokesperson but would resign from the company with his reputation in tatters.

And now Brandon Thurston has reported that McMahon’s attorneys have filed a motion to force arbitration due to a clause in the NDA Grant previously signed. Additionally, the fascinating legal document, which can be read here, states that, according to McMahon, the claims against him are “pure fiction,” and he “never mistreated her in any way.

“She intentionally violated the enforceable contract with her salacious, false and defamatory public filing. However, the FAA and binding United States Supreme Court precedent—and Plaintiff’s own agreement—require that if Plaintiff wishes to proceed with her fictitious claims, she must do so in arbitration, not in this Court, and that this action be stayed pending arbitration.”

78-year-old McMahon’s world began to fall apart when it was made public that the billionaire had been making substantial hush money payments to women between 2006 and 2022. Initially, he would retire but returned just six months later, with some believing he was never really gone. However, once Grant filed her lawsuit and the horrendous claims became known, he realistically had no other option but to depart the company he made an international brand.
