Velveteen Dream Issues Multiple Apologies

Velveteen Dream Issues Multiple Apologies

At one time, Patrick Clark Jr, best known to WWE fans as Velveteen Dream, looked destined for WWE superstardom and built a big fan following in NXT. Yet, in 2020, his supporters deserted him when alarming allegations regarding inappropriate messages to children emerged. And while WWE stated they carried out an internal investigation that cleared him, fans wouldn’t forget, with #FireVelveteenDream becoming a regularly trending topic.

Ultimately, this would cause WWE to release the promising talent on May 21, 2021, and subsequently, he has found himself in legal trouble, having been accused of first-degree battery and trespassing, as well as possessing drug paraphernalia. However, he seemingly wants to make amends and has taken to his Instagram to issue multiple apologies via a video. In this, he would apologize to WWE as a company, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, as well as several family members.

“As you’ve probably seen or heard over the course of the last few years, I wanna apologize for my behavior. Both professionally and personally, I always preach to those close to me about the power of accountability and responsibility, I take full accountability for my behavior over the last three years of my life. When narratives were written about me, it doesn’t matter. It didn’t matter what was written about me, it doesn’t matter what’s on the internet about me. I was wrong. Because of that, I need to apologize to a few people.”

Clark has previously attempted to make a comeback to the ring, but this was short-lived, as the first indie promotion to book him announced within two hours he was off the show due to the unfavorable reaction. This would seemingly indicate that his mainstream wrestling career is over because if he can’t even wrestle on an independent show, it’s doubtful a major company will want to deal with the repercussions regardless of any amount of apologies he issues.
