Jeff Hardy is currently sidelined, having had surgery on his broken nose, which he sustained during a match with Sammy Guevara in February. And now, following his brother Matt’s departure from AEW and subsequent return to TNA, Fightful Select has reported that Jeff’s contract with the promotion expires much sooner than many thought.
“Originally, it was believed that AEW had extended Jeff Hardy’s deal into 2025 due to injury and sabbatical time. As of late March, that wasn’t the case. At that period, Hardy’s deal was set to expire sometime in the Spring, based on what Jeff Hardy told other talent at recent conventions.”
Fightful SelectUnfortunately, Jeff Hardy’s AEW run has failed to live up to fans’ expectations, with a big part of this being due to his DUI arrest and ensuing spell in rehab, which derailed his momentum. However, he can still restore his reputation as part of AEW’s roster when medically cleared, although it appears he will need to agree to a new deal for that to happen.
