Update On Tully Blanchard’s AEW Contract Status Following ROH’s Death Before Dishonor

On July 18th, 2019, it was announced that Tully Blanchard had signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling, with him initially put with Shawn Spears. Now, three years on, it has been reported by Fightful Select that the WWE Hall of Famer is no longer with the company, having not been involved in Saturday night’s Ring of Honor event. This was despite him being the leader of “Tully Blanchard Enterprises,” a faction consisting of Toa Liona, Kaun, and Brian Cage, who, following the show, are now managed by longtime ROH talent Prince Nana.

Talent and staff in ROH that inquired were told that Blanchard is effectively gone from the company, and isn’t figured in to plans moving forward.

68-year-old Blanchard actually came out of retirement following a 14-year hiatus while he was a part of AEW in 2021, teaming with FTR, who he managed at the time against Jurassic Express. And it appeared his partnership with FTR would guarantee him many more years in the spotlight. However, after being fired in kayfabe by FTR last March, his future became a lot less certain, with fans speculating at the time it was done so Bret Hart could take his spot.

Whether the former Horseman looks to continue his managerial wrestling career in another promotion remains to be seen. Still, given he also works as Prison Minister, he seemingly has enough on to keep himself busy in his twilight years if he decides to step away from the business. Additionally, with his daughter, Tessa making occasional appearances on indie shows, it is possible he could end up alongside her in the future.
