Update On Finn Bálor’s WWE Future

It’s been known for some time that Finn Bálor’s WWE contract was expiring this year, and given that Tony Khan loves to sign former WWE stars, some fans thought he could soon be AEW-bound. However, after he posted on X that “I ain’t going nowhere” on Monday, Fightful Select has now confirmed that he is expected to sign a long-term contract with WWE, possibly having already done so.

“Fightful had heard Monday that Balor was expected to stay with WWE, and was expected to sign a long-term contract extension with the company, if he’d not already. Balor’s deal was set to be up within the next couple of months.”

42-year-old Bálor rose to fame in New Japan during an eight-year run with the promotion. However, he became a global star when he signed with WWE in 2014 and has since won virtually every championship open to him, including the inaugural WWE Universal Championship. Still, his time in The Judgment Day stable has taken him to a whole new level in terms of character development, and, therefore it’s somewhat surprising that WWE hadn’t already locked him into a new deal.
