A few months back, Rammstein singer Till Lindemann appeared to be in some serious hot water. Numerous women came forward with disturbing claims that Lindemann subjected them to non-consensual sex acts and/or spiked their drinks or made unwanted advances at Rammstein after-parties or in other backstage situations.
Lindemann was also dropped by his book publisher, and the band’s label, Universal Music, halted marketing and promotion for Rammstein amid an investigation from German officials. Rammstein denied the accounts at the time.
Now, Germany has dropped the investigation “due to insufficient suspicion of a crime.”
“What all of the complainants have in common is that their criminal complaints were not based on their own experiences, but solely on the statements made by Shelby Lynn, Kayla Shyx and the subsequent media reports,” read a statement from Lindemann’s attorneys.
One of Lindemann’s attorneys during the criminal proceedings stated: “The swift discontinuation of the preliminary proceedings conducted against my client proves that the investigations of the public prosecutor’s office did not uncover any evidence or circumstantial evidence to charge my client with the commission of sexual offenses. There was simply nothing to the allegations.”
Lindemann also shared a statement via his Instagram story: “I would like to thank everyone who waited impartially for the investigation to end.”
