Earlier this year, José García, who worked under the name José The Assistant, departed AEW for budgetary reasons. Subsequntly, he has been wrestling occasional matches under the name José The Assassin on the indies, and it is known he’s been spotted backstage at both WWE and TNA tapings. And now, after WWE teased Penta El Zero Miedo’s apparent debut during this week’s Raw with a slashed zero, García has seemingly suggested he is also involved by posting the same symbol himself on X.
39-year-old García broke into the business in 2007 and initially competed on the California indie scene and in Mexico under the names Orion and Principe Orion. This led to him making a couple of appearances for WWE in 2011 and 2012, where he wrestled Brodus Clay and Ryback, although nothing more came from this. Still, having taken a hiatus from the ring in 2018, he joined AEW in 2021 as Andrade’s manager, but once he departed the promotion, García was no longer needed.
