Tyrus Comes To Ric Flair’s Defense Following Recent Controversy

There is always plenty of controversy in the world of pro wrestling, and recently, Ric Flair sparked fan outrage when, in a promo, he invited women aged between 18 and 28 to come to his hotel room. Subsequently, Flair would take to social media platform X and offer to quit the promotion if he was causing Tony Khan any embarrassment. Obviously, this didn’t transpire, although AEW would edit the line out of Rampage’s broadcast. And now, during a recent interview with Flair, FOX News host and retired pro-wrestler Tyrus would come to the 16-time world champions’ defense, telling him he shouldn’t be apologizing.

“I got a little bit of beef with you, and I’m just gonna bring it up with you real quick. You put a post out where you had the temerity that maybe you shouldn’t have walked out there in AEW. Let me remind you of who you are. You have forgotten more wrestling than most of us will ever know. You are one of the last greats, when you come out and walk that isle, that a grandfather can look at his grandson, ‘I saw this guy wrestler, and that is why you’re here.‘

So don’t you ever, I don’t comment on social media much, but I believe I did, and I used the F word, don’t you apologize for Ric Flair coming out, because when you come out, that pop is as loud as it has ever been. I have to remind you of something – diamonds are forever, and so is Ric Flair, and you need to remember that.”

74-year-old Flair is undeniably one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time and has twice been honored by WWE by being inducted into their hall of fame. First, he was inducted into the class of 2008 for his individual career and then again in the class of 2012 as a member of The Four Horsemen. Nevertheless, his extrovert personality and checkered past have turned off some fans in recent years to the point that it was considered a risky signing by AEW when they initially hired him to be part of Sting’s retirement.
