Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine had been performing together on one of the biggest metalcore co-headlining tours in recent memory, with the bands performing their respective 2005 albums, “Ascendancy” and “The Poison,” in full. When the trek was first announced earlier this year, it was billed as a world tour that would cover both Europe, North America and possibly other territories. Now, however, it appears that the closing American dates will be the last of the run.
In a TikTok livestream, Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto explained that Bullet For My Valentine singer/guitarist Matt Tuck is to blame for the early end to the tour. “Matt Tuck didn’t want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works – don’t know why,” he said. “I think it would have been amazing. I think ‘The Poison’ is a great album. I think the two records pair very well together. And I think it would have been nice to give everyone around the world a chance to see the two together.”
Gregoletto then responded on Reddit with footage of himself giving a thumbs up with the caption: “When you make your first TikTok live and piss off the other bands you are on tour with…” adding the hashtag #JusticeForSouthAmerica referencing another market the tour had apparently been planned for.
The official Trivium account also weighed in criticizing Tuck: “He’s the sole decision maker of the band and he has no respect for us or our crew.” Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu also commented via Instagram saying: “We had a arena tour ready to go and when it got pulled it gave us no time to book anything with proper time. But next time we come to Australia we will play the album in full if you want haha.”
