Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Lemmy Kilmister became fast friends after Motörhead recorded their first entrance theme for him, “The Game,” in 2001. The band later recorded “King Of Kings” for Levesque and the song “Evolution” for his stable of the same name.
The band also played Levesque to the ring at Wrestlemania 17 and Wrestlemania 21, and Triple H spoke at Lemmy’s funeral in 2016. “We could hang out and we could talk for hours and it wouldn’t even be about music or about my business, we’d just talk,” Levesque told Metal Hammer in 2016. “We just had a connection there, and I’d only see him once a year sometimes – he was never really a phone chat kinda guy! – and we’d talk, and then he’d say, ‘I gotta go,’ and then he’d be off and I’d see him a year later.”
Levesque has now revealed that he’s taken part in a new graphic novel celebrating the 50th anniversary of Motorhead. “NO REMORSE: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead,” is available for order via Z2 comics.
“I’ll never forget the first time I met Lemmy,” Levesque wrote via Instagram. “The role that he and @officialmotorhead played in shaping “The Game” cannot be overstated, and it’s been the honor of a lifetime to pay homage to my friend by contributing to this novel. Make sure you get your copy today.”
The book features stories from Ozzy, Lars Ulrich, Slash, Dave Navarro, Triple H, Corey Graves, Matt Pinfield, Dave Grohl and Lemmy’s bandmates Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, among several others. Full details are available here.
