Tool is currently on the road in support of its Grammy Award-winning album “Fear Incoculum,” and the band has announced it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its “Opiate” album with an extended version of the EP’s title track and an accompanying short film. The band kicked off its 2022 tour in early January, marking their first live appearance since March 2020. Recently, the band made good use of its lighting rig to illuminate the way for EMT’s to get to a fan having a medical emergency at a show in Washington D.C. Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan spotted the fan in need of help. The video can be seen below.

Tool won a Grammy in the “Best Metal Performance” category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards in January 2020. The band was nominated for “7empest”, a track from “Fear Inoculum”. Tool already had three previous Grammy Awards under its belt: “Best Metal Performance” in 1997 and 2001 for “Ænima” and “Schism”, respectively, and “Best Recording Package” in 2006 for “10,000 Days”.

The group also recently released a special edition vinyl box set of “Fear Inoculum” with the hefty asking price of $810. The band recently dropped the price to $750. For comparison, some of the box sets have been surfacing on eBay for around $2,000 a piece. The band plans to release a retail version in April, but no price has been revealed.  Tool is currently on tour with The Acid Helps through March 30. Their tour continues in Europe starting in late April with Brass Against. “Fear Inoculum” marked the band’s first album in 13 years due to creative and personal issues within the band.
