Throughout WWE’s long history, the company has been reluctant to work with other promotions. However, in more recent times, this stance has softened, with Shinsuke Nakamura competing in the Great Muta’s retirement match for NOAH last year and, more recently, Shayna Baszler working for GCW.
Still, despite this, very few expected TNA’s Jordynne Grace to be a participant in the women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. Therefore, when she was, social media was buzzing about this unexpected working relationship. And now confirming the partnership still exists, the current Knockouts World Champion has appeared during this week’s episode of NXT to set up a match with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground.
28-year-old Grace broke into the pro wrestling business in 2011 and quickly accumulated a devoted fan base. Yet, she recently took a break from the industry to pursue competitive bodybuilding, although that ended up being short-lived as TNA would subsequently re-sign her, reportedly for significantly more money, clearly seeing her value to their brand.
