Mike Santana left AEW two months ago, having been with the promotion since 2019. And now, having returned to TNA at their Rebellion pay-per-view this past weekend for a match with Steve Maclin, it has been announced on social media that he has signed a contract with the promotion. This is notable as it’s understood that TNA is limiting the number of contracts they offer, instead looking at booking wrestlers on per-appearance deals.
33-year-old Santana was once known as a tag team specialist, but that changed when he and his longtime partner Ortiz fell out for undisclosed personal reasons. This led Santana to make a bold decision to step into the ring as a singles competitor. Yet, since his return from injury last August, AEW hardly used him, so his departure from the company didn’t come as a huge surprise.
