Thunder Rosa’s Husband Denies Report That She Asked For Her AEW Release

On Wednesday, RingsideNews.com reported via Brad Shepard that Thunder Rosa had requested her AEW release. This was stemming from the aftermatch of her match with Marina Shafir on the June 8th episode of Dynamite, where she was accused of sandbagging. And with all the backstage drama coming from AEW at present, many fans would pile in, saying the promotion was in disarray. However, other journalists would promptly go on to say this was false, and confirming this, Rosa’s husband Brian Cervantes has called it “stupid crap” in a tweet that has since been deleted due to him deactivating his account.

Rosa has been a regular topic of conversation on social media in recent weeks, as distrustful fans speculated that her current back injury is fake. With it suspected that she wanted time off due to having backstage heat after accidentally breaking Jamie Hayter’s nose at Battle of the Belts III. One rumor even claimed she hid in the bathroom out of fear of being assaulted by others on the roster following the match. However, she would seemingly dispute this when appearing on Busted Open, saying that as a trained MMA fighter, she doesn’t run from confrontation.
