Thunder Rosa Contemplated Suicide During AEW Hiatus

Thunder Rosa’s AEW Women’s World Championship reign lasted from March 16th, 2022, until September 4th, 2022, when she was forced to forfeit the title due to a severe back injury. And while she has been doing Spanish commentary for the company for several months, she did miss a great deal of time. And now the AEW star has revealed while talking to Busted Open that during her time away, she sadly contemplated suicide, seemingly due to suffering from depression. Thankfully though, she received therapy and appears to be in a better place mentally now.

I wanted to kill myself. Everything stopped, and there’s nothing you can do. I’m so thankful that I have a really good team and a really good family. My son, I think he’s the one who’s helped me the most, and he helped me many times many nights, just telling me everything’s gonna be okay. I was lucky enough to have some resources, and I was able to be in therapy.Thunder Rosa

There are still some question marks surrounding Rosa’s current injury situation. However, as she recently returned to Dynamite in a backstage segment and appears on the Collision poster, her in-ring return seems to be looming. And this can only be seen as a good thing for all involved, as Rosa is considered one of the best workers in the company, having initially built her name in Billy Corgan’s NWA.
