Thunder Rosa Addresses Criticism Of Her Steel Cage Match With Britt Baker

Last Wednesday, AEW held their St. Patrick’s Day Slam-themed episode of Dynamite, which was headlined by a steel cage match between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s Championship. Rosa would end up victorious in just over 17 minutes, and some have described the contest as a must-see due to the blood, thumbtacks, and hard-hitting action.

However, many have been critical, saying the blood was excessive and the selling wasn’t consistent. Now in response to that criticism, Rosa has stated during an interview that the issue is with fans who are programmed a certain way. Seemingly saying the complaints originate from fans used to WWE’s style of wrestling.

It’s like people are programmed a certain way, and they have been programmed for professional wrestling for decades a certain way because of how things have been handled before.

Seemingly the match will go down as one of the most mixed reviewed ever, with almost as many people rating the match 0 as did 10 on Cagematch.net. Ultimately how you feel about excessive blood will dictate how you rank the match. However, regardless of your opinion of the match, how hard both women worked is undeniable, and it will undoubtedly live long in the memories of those who witnessed it.
