In surprising news on Wednesday, thrash legends Exodus announced they are replacing longtime singer Steve “Zetro” Souza with their previous singer Rob Dukes.

Dukes replaced Souza back in 2004 and appeared with the band for four albums before splitting from the group in 2014 which initially paved the way for Souza’s return.

“Announcement! EXODUS have parted ways with Steve “Zetro” Souza,” the band wrote via social media. “We thank Steve for his years fronting the band and all the killer music we made during that time. We wish him only the best in the future and much success with anything he does. And please help us welcome Rob Dukes back to EXODUS! We are beyond stoked to have Rob back ripping up the stage with us and he’s looking forward to crushing everything like only he can. Next chapter begins, new record rolls along as planned and the beatings will continue. See you soon, EXODUS.”

Souza replaced original Exodus frontman Paul Baloff in 1986 and fronted the band for some of their most well-known albums including 1989’s “Fabulous Disaster” and the very well-received “Tempo of the Damned” in 2004.
