It’s been known for some time that Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract was set to expire shortly, and while most assumed he would re-sign, it wasn’t guaranteed. However, The Rock has now revealed on his Instagram that the former WWE Champion has inked a new idea with the company, and as a thank you, The Final Boss has sent him a new Claymore sword.
“Man of my word As you’re a man of yours – Congratulations @dmcintyrewwe on signing your new @wwe deal. As we talked about after your #WrestleMania match, I know this Scottish Claymore represents everything that you, your family and your country embody.”
The RockMcIntyre is currently working hurt with it believed he suffered a hyperextended elbow during his WrestleMania XL night 2 match with Seth Rollins. Despite this, McIntyre did not miss any dates on WWE’s recent UK tour, wrestling Jey Uso all over the country. Although a present, he isn’t scheduled to compete at next weekend’s Backlash pay-per-view, so it appears he could be set for time off to recover.
