The Reason Metalik Refused To Lose On Rampage Reported

A recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that former WWE 24/7 Champion Metalik refused to lose to Komander at a past Rampage taping. Subsequently, the luchador would take to X and deny this is what occurred, although he left the situation open by saying he wasn’t interested in explaining. And now, Fightful has reported more information regarding the circumstances, revealing that Metalik’s issue was that he wasn’t happy to be doing so many jobs while not under a full-time contract.

“Fightful Select was told that the original plan was a four-way match involving Lince Dorado, Penta El Zero Miedo, Komander, and Metalik, but became a three-way due to Lince’s ties to CMLL. Metalik was planned to lose the three-way, but didn’t want to continue to lose matches without being under a full-time deal.”

35-year-old Metalik is best known for his time wrestling in WWE as part of Lucha House Party. He was with the company between 2016 and 2021 and departed after requesting his release due to being unhappy with his booking. Since then, he has worked for multiple promotions, but most frequently has been wrestling in Mexico for CMLL and for AEW’s sister promotion, ROH, in the States. However, it appears he remains a free agent.
