The Godfather Wants To Apologize To Fellow Wrestler For Bullying Him

The Godfather has previously discussed how he hated being part of the much-maligned Right To Censor group, as it made him go from his famous gimmick to simply The Goodfather. In fact, he actually considered quitting WWE over it, and now he has revealed in a new interview that he owes an apology to the group’s leader Stevie Richards for bullying him during this run. Seemingly taking out his frustration on him rather than the man genuinely responsible for the group, Vince McMahon.

One day I’m going to apologize to him for the way that I treated him when I see him. I was kind of a bully to him because I kind of blamed him for me becoming The Goodfather when it was not his fault at all. But I couldn’t blame Vince, but I was kind of a d*ck head to him.

The Godfather would go on to return to his more successful gimmick after several months off the television, returning at the 2002 Royal Rumble as The Godfather, much to fans’ delight. However, WWE failed to recapture lightning in a bottle for a second time, and then a year later, he was released. Since then, though, he has made sporadic appearances for the company while being under a legends contract and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2016, proving that one run as the Goodfather didn’t affect him long-term.
