“That Metal Show” Hosts Set To Return With New Show

For 14 seasons longtime rock DJ and former record exec Eddie Trunk, along with comedians Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson, co-hosted “That Metal Show” on VH1 Classic.

The hard rock/heavy metal talk show was incredibly popular among rock music fans, and it was a serious disappointment when VH1 Classic folded operations taking the show down with it.

Metal fans can rejoice, however, in that the trio announced on Monday that they’re doing a new, livestream version of the show called “That Rocks.” A premiere date has yet to be announced, but is likely to come in May. Episodes will also be available on the show’s YouTube channel after airing live.

“We are getting the band back together!” Trunk tweeted. “Happy to announce me, @realdonjamieson & @Mrjimflorentine are reuniting for a weekly LIVE @YouTube show #ThatRocks talking rock & metal with you! Coming soon.”

“The three stooges are back together,” Florentine said during an announcement of the show.

The trio revealed that many of the same popular segments from the original show will carry over to the YouTube version including countdowns and best-of lists as well as their staple rock interviews. Fans will also be able to interact with the hosts live as they do the show.

The show’s theme music will be a clip taken from a song by Turbo Lovers, a band fronted by Web Is Jericho writer, B.J. Lisko. The full track, “Reasons That We Rhyme,” comes from the band’s 2022 release, “Lettin’ It Fly!”

Fans of “That Metal Show” show are encouraged to subscribe to the “That Rocks” YouTube channel
