With great sadness, it has been announced via his obituary that Robert Gerald Boyer, known to wrestling fans as Bobby Bold Eagle and Bob Boyer, passed away on January 4, 2026, at his home in Indiana while surrounded by family. After retiring from the ring, he worked 30 years as a boilermaker and is survived by his wife, Peggy, his children, Lisa and David, and five grandchildren.
Boyer began his career in the 1960s after training in Montreal and competed across various territories, including St. Louis, Capitol Wrestling (early WWF), Texas, and Houston. In the early 1970s, he relocated to Indianapolis, adopting the Native American gimmick Bobby Bold Eagle for Dick the Bruiser’s World Wrestling Association. He later worked for The Sheik’s Big Time Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, the AWA, and the WWF, retiring in the mid-1980s, with his final recorded match being against Adrian Adonis in 1987.
