Ted DiBiase Apologizes For Ill-Timed Tweet Following His Son Being Charged With Multiple Felonies

On Thursday, a federal indictment was unsealed to reveal that Ted DeBiase Jr. had been charged with taking millions of dollars from the Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs. Basically, he, along with his co-conspirators, are alleged to have used money meant for low-income families to fund their own lavish lifestyles. And while DiBiase Jr. is obviously innocent until proven guilty, this is incredibly serious.

Therefore when his father, the Million Dollar Man, whose own name has been mentioned in the case, posted an old photo on Twitter of him shoving money into the mouth of an enhancement talent’s throat and captained, “Everybody’s got a price,” it wasn’t received well by fans. DiBiase Sr., though, has since deleted the offending tweet and issued an apology which can be read below, basically blaming the post on an auto-scheduler.

40-year-old DiBiase Jr last wrestled for WWE in 2013 and seemingly retired from the ring in 2017 after competing on a handful of independent shows. He now faces one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and to commit theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, and four counts of money laundering. If found guilty, he faces between 5 and 20 years in prison for each count, which could see him spend the rest of his life behind bars.
