Rafael Morffi is the Vice President of Live Events and Touring at AEW, and if not for him and his team, there might not be a show! Rafael, who’s been in the live wrestling business for over 25 years, including stints with WWE and Impact Wrestling, pulls back the curtain on the logistics of staging and producing live wrestling events for TV or otherwise. He explains the venue selection process, routing and scheduling, what it takes to move the ring, stage, and production pieces to each location, and how ticket sales are managed for each event. He talks about local promotion for each show, some of his favorite moments with various talents, including Chris Jericho and John Cena, some of his favorite venues, and why match-ups no longer dictate sales. Raf also talks about AEW’s expansion into the UK and overseas, the company’s goals for 2023, and what it’s like to work with Jeff Jarrett in the office.
