In March 2023, El Cuatrero was arrested after Stephanie Vaquer reported him for abuse, and since then, he has been incarcerated, having been charged with attempted femicide and domestic violence. It would subsequently be noted that a judge had denied the disgraced luchador the opportunity of freedom due to Vaquer’s being deemed a vulnerable person, as his release could potentially put her in danger.

However, as she is currently living in the United States after signing with WWE, it’s known that his lawyers were pushing for him to be freed. And now, in an interview on his brother Sansón’s YouTube channel, El Cuatrero has confirmed he is out of prison, as lawyers were able to lift the protection order. Still, he would explain that the criminal case has not yet been concluded, although he claims to be innocent and says he trusts the legal system.

El Cuatrero, real name Rogelio Reyes, comes from a wrestling family, with his father being legendary luchador Cien Caras. Yet it is understood he didn’t get to take the name El Hijo de Cien Caras or Cien Caras Jr. because his famous father had previously rented them out to non-related wrestlers. And while it’s understood his father didn’t want him or his brother Sansón wrestling, both men would begin training while still in school. From there, El Cuatrero joined CMLL and established himself as both a singles and tag performer alongside his brother, although after seven years, he began working for AAA, with it believed he remained under contract with them despite being imprisoned.
