It’s been a rough week for Staind frontman Aaron Lewis. The singer was suffering from kidney stones less than a week after having surgery to remove his appendix. Lewis shared the news of his troubles via Instagram. “Laying here recovering from having my appendix out,” Lewis wrote. “On top of that, I’ve had a kidney stone SLOWLY snaking it’s way through me for the last 4 days. After intense like-I’ve-never-experienced-pain, I successfully passed this kidney stone today.” Lewis had to postpone shows in Iowa, Kansas and Missouri last week after appendicitis bout. The conservative rocker’s new solo album, “Frayed At Both Ends”, is due on Jan. 28, and last week he released the new single, “Everybody Talks to God.” The first single from the album was “Am I the Only One.”

Of the new album Lewis called it “an album of saying things that need to be said about how people actually live. Life isn’t easy. Most people drink to forget, or drive for hours trying to get away from what they can’t let go of or leave behind. Work takes it out of you. Love falls short or destroys you. Disappointments stack up. But still you have to keep going, and how you do that says everything about the man that you are.” Often outspoken on politics, Lewis told Fox & Friends last summer that the key to connecting people from both sides of the political aisle is to open a dialogue in the first place. “I think that we’re not talking enough,” he said. “I think that we’re not communicating enough with each other. I think that together we stand and divided we fall. And this country has done some pretty amazing things going on those words.”
